TdS trekking bike Fernweh
What does the perfect travel bike have to be able to do? Tour de Suisse answers this question with wanderlust. This offers a lot to satisfy your wanderlust.
When looking for a trekking bike, it is easy to get confused. There are almost as many models as there are vendors, and each has different strongsuits that are advertised. In a nutshell, what is crucial for touring with a bike, is that you can literally ride it for hours. From our point of view, this has two components: firstly, the bike has to be stable and reliable, and secondly, it has to remain comfortable over long periods or riding - both of which being slightly overloaded with luggage. The Fernweh offers both in an unobtrusive and uncompromising way. It is a bike that accompanies you for decades and a good investment for everyone who wants to go through all the hardships with their two-wheelers.
The "Fernweh" relies on a durable tubular steel frame and a matching steel fork. Not only does it last forever, it can also be repaired anywhere in the world. Steel is a bit heavier than alloy, but due to its lower rigidity it "swings" a bit more and thus makes for a more comfortable ride on rougher surfaces.
The seating position is crucial on long journeys. Thanks to the extensive range of accessories, you have the choice between sporty, moderate or comfortable. In the shop we always say it this way: At Tour de Suisse you can tell that a Swiss engineer was at work. Everything is just right, from the smallest screw to the frame geometry.
Well charged and well supplied
The small and light Shimano hub dynamo provides power to the bike, ideal for LED lighting. Via the Cinq Plug5 Plus charging socket, for example, the mobile phone can be supplied with power on the travel bike. p>
