Secure frame lock for standard tires
The Trelock RS 453 is a solid frame lock. Mounting it requires that your bike has drillings in the frame where the lock can be screwed on (for position see picture 2). The lock comes with 2 keys which can be reordered in case of loss (note down the key number!). This version is designed for oversized tires wider than 55-XYZ (e.g. 55-622), for normal road tires you need the standard version.
Grade 2.0 in the Stiftung Warentest (German grades, that's good)!
Extendable thanks to Prot-O-Connect
Decent frame locks are very difficult to pick and therefore offer good theft protection; unless you can take it easy with a coffee in the workshop. So that you don't give the bike thieves a chance, it is always advisable to connect a bike (e.g. to a column, a grille, etc.).
The Prot-O-Connect allows an extension cable or an extension chain to be connected to the RS 453 so that you can double lock your bike with the same key. You can also find such lock extensions in our shop.
For which bikes is this lock suitable?
Two-part answer: 1. The frame lock itself is very safe and we also recommend it for use with very expensive ones Bikes 5000+ francs. 2. It is recommended very strongly for bikes from around CHF 1000 you always physically lock your bike onto something. Either a lock extension or a second lock with which you can easily close a column or something.
Trelock - security thanks to German engineering
Trelock is one German traditional company that has been manufacturing reliable locks for decades. The continuity pays off in several ways: 1. the locks have continuously improved and today, thanks to "inner track milled" keys, they are de facto unbreakable without violence 2. ancient keys can still be reordered and 3. there is a competent help desk (which we have never had to use before).
