A perfect city bike companion for everyday life

Originally, those wanted to buy the 4130 series who were looking for an affordable entry into the fixie world. When the fixie boom passed in the middle of the last decade, this specialist segment has moved into the higher price range, but the 4130 has been able to stay in a different segment: as a simple and ultra reliable city bike. The formula is not complicated: There is practically nothing on this bike that could break - and what is on it is of high quality and requires little maintenance.
Even our customers who haven't found permanent liking of the fixie taste have noticed, what they have on this bike - and at some point simply turned the rear wheel to singlespeed or had a gear hub installed (which is possible, call us).

The bikes are simply well made.

With bicycles, the devil is in the details, for example how exactly the bearings are fitted into the rim can make the difference in Swiss weather in the long term. And because State has optimized all minute details so reliably and obsessively on this bike, it is durable and needs little attention overall - even in Swiss weather.
There are also various performance optimizations: Drilled high-flange hubs, an open stem and the CNC Milled seat post clamps not only look good, they also help to save additional weight.

Flexible thanks to flip-flop hub

All State Fixies come with a flip-flop hub, thanks to which you can easily switch from fixie (rigid running, chain rigidly connected to rear wheel) to single speed (freewheel, crank can stand still while driving) by turning around the rear wheel. State pre-assembles as a single-speed bike, if you ride fixed-gear, please write a message in the order comments.

State Bicycle Co is an American mega-brand with a lot of marketing power. The Americans are not only known for their reliable fixie bikes, but also for the crazy collaborations and special editions.
In contrast, the Alouette here is more of a callback to the good old days and is vaguely reminiscent of a classic Peugot Race bike.
